Hi! I’m Morakot

I’m a lecturer at the Faculty of ICT, Mahidol University, Thailand, where I am co-founding the SERU research group. I graduated Ph.D. in computer science from the School of Computing and Information Technology, Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences (EIS), University of Wollongong (UOW), Australia. At UOW, I worked in the Decision Support Lab (DSL). My current research focuses on AI-Driven Software Engineering (e.g. predicting delays). My research has been published at top-tier software engineering venues, such as IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering (TSE), Empirical Software Engineering (EMSE), and the International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE). My Ph.D. thesis receives the Examiners’ Commendation for Outstanding Thesis.

Behind me is the city of Wollongong.

In 2007, I received the B.Sc. in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) from the Faculty of ICT, Mahidol University, Thailand. I also received a master degree in computer science from the same place. I was a Ph.D. student in Decision Support Lab (DSL)University of Wollongong (UOW). I worked with Dr. Hoa Khanh Dam (principal supervisor) and Professor Aditya Ghose. We still collaborate to extend our research in applying AI to improve software development. I’m the author of several papers in top international conferences and journals.

My research interest lies in:

  • Artificial Intelligence for Software Engineering
  • Software Engineering Analytics
(e.g. applications of data mining and machine learning into software engineering)
  • Software Process Improvement
  • Distributed Software Development
  • Data mining
  • Machine learning
